BB Glow

BB GLOW TREATMENT

THE HOTTEST BEAUTY TREND IN KOREA & EUROPE IS NOW HERE!

Imagine waking up every morning with zero red spots and a perfectly even complexion. Think of how much time it would save to roll out of bed with foundation already on. Think about how much money it could save over time. That's the promise of BB Glow, a nano-needling procedure that infuses semi-permanent BB cream into the skin for natural looking coverage that lasts for four to six months.

So what IS semi-permanent BB Cream?

This is perfect for people who love the whole 'My skin but better' look. The process is the same as microneedling, which works by rolling tiny needles across the skin. The microneedling device may sound like a form of medieval torture, but it's actually a highly effective way to increase the skin's production of collagen and elastin. The teeny pinpricks force the skin to heal and build up stronger than before, while the device also deposits serum deeper into the skin. Here, instead of injecting the skin with a hyaluronic acid or line-smoothing serum, the tinted BB Cream gets infused up to one-millimeter deep into the skin. This treatment will provide your skin with light to medium coverage to soften the appearance of blemishes, hyperpigmentation, freckles, rosacea, redness, it will hide minor defects and flaws in the skin and lighten up those pesky dark under eye circles. It's especially phenomenal for people with red skin, to eliminate rosacea, redness, and broken capillaries. And unlike regular makeup, it won't wash off with a workout or in the shower. It's not going to clump like makeup or dissolve in a few hours or get dry because you have dry skin that day. It just looks like your face.

Patients with a history of keloidal scars, eczema, and psoriasis should to check with their dermatologist before attempting a semi-permanent BB procedure.

It can temporarily even-out the skin tone, which is perfect for people with discolorations from melasma or redness from healed pimples. One of the ingredients in the BB cream is a light-reflecting element such as a silica, which makes light bounce off of the skin, thereby making the skin appear more radiant. Not everyone is eligible for the treatment. This procedure is not recommended on anyone with any sort of inflammatory skin condition like eczema, psoriasis, active acneic skin or cystic acne, anyone taking hormonal medication, pregnant, or breast feeding. As for side effects, clients typically experience a few days of redness and some dryness.

What should you expect during this treatment

Firstly, all traces of makeup will be removed with a double cleanse (if possible, try to come makeup free). In order to prepare the skin for deep penetration of BB serum, your skin will be exfoliated with a light enzyme to remove dead skin cells. Then the nano-needling will be performed with the serum that most benefits your skin features. Then the closest shade of BB serum is selected. After applying a thin layer of BB serum over your face, a nano-needling pen will be moved over your face to penetrate the BB serum into the skin. Delicate areas such as the nose and eyes might need more coverage as these areas typically have more uneven edges and skin problems, notably redness and dark eye circles. After penetration, the BB cream serum will blend and adjust to your skin tone. Last but not least, your treatment is completed with a custom sheet mask and LED session to boost collagen production.

How does skin change post treatment?

The treatment starts by restoring even skin tone and a radiant complexion - a great way to get an instant and gradual lightening effect. As it reduces melanin content in the skin, there is lesser skin discoloration too. Post-treatment, expect some mild redness that typically lasts for a day or so. Some peeling around the nose and mouth, particularly for those with dehydrated skin, may also occur. Apart from sensitive skin types, you would only require one day worth of downtime and you can put on makeup immediately. Sensitive skin would require up to 3 days of downtime. You will be given a repair serum to be applied for the next 7 days.

How many sessions are needed and how long does the treatment last?

Ranging from a couple to multiple sessions, treatments vary. In most cases, the effect can be seen soon enough (1 - 2 sessions) but typically it takes 3-5 sessions to see results. BB Glow treatment is a great option for events and special occasions. Bride to be? This could be a great option to get that all glowing look! The effect might only last for a few days to a week if you are a first timer. More maintenance would have to be done (2 or 3 times), and the effect would be more pronounced and longer lasting. Then, it would last from 6 months up to one year. Treatments can be done every 2 weeks.
